Autism in Girls and Considerations for Medical Diagnostic Evaluations in EI

Are there really more autistic people today than there were 20 years ago? Are we diagnosing more boys than girls, and if so, why? What does the current literature suggest about the ways Autism presents differently in some girls? What is the field learning from late-diagnosed women who are Autistic? How might this information inform the way we approach neurodiversity with the children and families we support in EI? Join us for this virtual EI Forum where we will unpack new information and reflect on these questions together!

Reflective Practice Session for the Webinar:

"Autism in Girls and Considerations for Medical Diagnostic Evaluations in EI”

Following the webinar, our reflective practice session will provide an opportunity for participants to engage in thoughtful discussion about the key topics explored. We will consider current research on the unique ways autism may present in girls, and discuss insights gained from the experiences of late-diagnosed autistic women. Participants will be encouraged to share their perspectives on how these evolving understandings can shape and improve our approaches to supporting neurodiverse children and families in Early Intervention (EI). This session will foster an open, collaborative environment for sharing experiences, deepening understanding, and identifying practical strategies to enhance our work.

    Early Intervention Credits - TBD

(please note credit is currently unavailable for states outside of Illinois)

This is a closed training and is only open to IDTA Members who attended the Webinar. Please note, a strict no cancellation policy will be enforced for all IDTA webinars.
